Book Club: March/April/May

Upcoming Book Discussions! Each meeting is 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Books are available now for the next 3 discussions. Two copies of Jeeves and the Wedding Bells are available for pick up this Saturday. It can be a quick weekend read for Tuesday night’s discussion; it is just 7 hours in audiobook format.

March 21
Jeeves and the Wedding Bells: An Homage to P.G. Wodehouse by Sebastian Faulks – With the approval of the Wodehouse estate, acclaimed novelist Sebastian Faulks brings Bertie Wooster (a young man about town) and his butler Jeeves (the very model of modern manservant) back to life for their legion of fans.

April 18
Silent Spring by Rachel Carson – The result of Carson’s environmental research was Silent Spring, which brought environmental concerns to the American public.

May 16
The Refugees by Viet Thanh Nguyen – This is the Pulitzer Prize winning author’s collection of eight stories exploring questions of immigration, identity, love, and family.

February and March Book Discussions

Upcoming Book Discussions! Each meeting is 6:30-7:30 p.m.

February 21 .. The new Tom Hanks movie is A Man Called Otto, but before the Otto adaption, it was the wonderful Ove in Fredrik Backman’s A Man Called Ove. With searching for the correct pronounciation of the Swedish Ove’s name, we will use ooh-ve. Do join us!

March 21 .. Jeeves was the trusted valet of Bertie Wooster in the books by P. G. Wodehouse. We will read a new Jeeves book written as an homage to the original series. Our book is Jeeves and the Wedding Bells by Sebastian Faulks.

2022’s Annual Holiday Ornament Party

The Annual Holiday Ornament Party is on Tuesday, November 29. Two sessions will be available for children to make an assortment of homemade ornaments, 5:30-6:30 p.m. and 6:45-7:45 p.m. Each session has room for 12 children. Please contact the Library to sign up for a session. If you have time to volunteer to help with the ornament party, we could use 5 helpers. We pay in cookies and hot cocoa!
